Africa Maintenance Equipment (AME) was initially established under the auspices of INDUSTRI Tools & Equipment (formerly Mandirk), part of the Engineering Solutions Group (ESG) of Invicta Holdings Limited.
During 2020/2021, selected ESG businesses in selected regions were sold to new owners including locally based, black industrialists.
At the forefront of each AME business, is a deep commitment to customers with a view to reducing operational costs while implementing Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) principles. AME’s are 51% local black-owned and include a 30% black female-owned enterprise development initiative that supports the Government’s objectives for the development of Previously Disadvantaged Individuals, through public and private sector collaboration. This venture strategically links enterprise and supplier development to skills development, successfully providing opportunities for black industrialists, increasing local job creation and enhancing sustainable business performance.
AME is now a well-established specialist supplier of engineering consumables to the maintenance, repair and operating (MRO) product segments of South Africa’s mining and industrial sectors. Our product portfolio includes tools and equipment, seals, power transmission and materials handling components, as well as electromechanical systems. Also in the range are fasteners, filtration, hydraulics and pneumatics, valves, instrumentation, agricultural components and personal protection equipment (PPE).
The structure of each AME is in full compliance with the requirements of Corporate Governance and the South African Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) charter. Together we strive to continue to uplift the country and build and develop local communities. Our customers are in various sectors - including mining, power generation, municipalities, general industry and state-owned enterprises – and they have access to leading global brands through ESG’s extensive distribution network.
ESG group companies comprise BMG (Africa’s industrial leader in the engineering consumables space), INDUSTRI Tools & Equipment (specialists in the tool and equipment sector), Hyflo, OST (Oscillating Systems Technology), Hansen (industrial gearboxes), Rustenburg Engineering and Foundry and Belt Brokers.
